The inaugural season for the NSBA Hawk youth travel teams was in 2009 with a single team at the 11u age level. After the initial season the program expanded to 4 teams covering the 10u to 12u age levels. The program now consists of any number of teams ranging from the 9u age group up to the 14u age group. This growth is due to the emphasis placed on fun and player development by the entire NSBA staff.
The number one focus for the NSBA staff is to ensure that each player enjoys his experience as an NSBA Hawk. The focus on fun serves two purposes. First, baseball is a game and games should be enjoyed. Second, if the boys are having fun they will not see the hard work that they are putting in as work and are much more likely to be giving 100% effort in each practice and game.
The second goal of the program is player development. The NSBA coaches want to help each and every player on our teams' to reach their goals whether it be to play baseball professionally or to simply make the high school team. NSBA coaches utilize every team interaction whether it be a practice in January or game in June to teach the game of baseball.
The NSBA coaches are committed to improving the skills of each player and ensure that they enjoy their baseball experience.
